It’s Thankful Thursday and, after yesterday’s heavy snowfall, we want to thank each and every Physical Plant Division employee involved in snow removal at MSU.  You make life so much easier, safer and better for all of the faculty, staff, students and community members who work, study, live and visit on MSU’s campus during the snowy days of winter.  Thank you for your tireless around-the-clock efforts that keep MSU running!

Thank You Clerical-Technical Employees!

Today we’re thanking MSU’s clerical-technical (CT) employees. These employees are essential to the University as they work throughout our academic departments and support units. From office assistants to research technologists to veterinary technicians, CTs hold a wide variety of crucial positions.

Each year, MSU Human Resources presents one outstanding CT employee the Clerical-Technical Recognition Award, established by Dr. Charles and Marjorie Gliozzo in honor of Dr. Gliozzo’s parents. It’s thankful Thursday and today we’d like to say thank you to Brent Bowditch, who has served as the Assistant Vice President for MSU Human Resources over the last three years. Did you know that National Bosses Day was Sunday, October 16? In honor of Bosses Day, the Family Resource Center (FRC) acknowledged four outstanding supervisors at MSU by presenting them with the 2011 Outstanding Supervisor Award! The Outstanding Supervisor Award was established by FRC in 2001 to draw attention to MSU supervisors who are highly regarded by their employees for their consistent support of the work/life  needs of their employees. Think it’s tough keeping your own yard in tip-top shape?  How would you like to be responsible for the care, upkeep and beauty of nearly 7 million square feet of turf?  That’s the primary responsibility of Michigan State University’s gardeners, and they do that job beautifully!  The gardeners are part of Physical Plant Division’s Landscape Services department.  And as you walk around MSU admiring our great campus, we have the gardening crew to thank for a lot of the beauty we see.
