This week weâre highlighting an Executive Staff Assistant position in MSU AgBioResearch  (Posting #6867). Some of the job duties for this position include providing administrative and secretarial support to the director/assistant VP and associate director of AgBioResearch, as well as administrative support to the fiscal officer; maintaining and coordinating directors’ calendars to ensure time prioritized/utilized effectively; scheduling meetings; arranging international and domestic travel; sorting, reviewing and directing mail, including drafting responses when appropriate; reconciling budgets/ledgers as first line review to keep fiscal officer informed of expenditures; composing/editing documents/correspondence using word processing, database management, spreadsheets and presentation software; and processing memberships, reimbursements, professional services invoices using EBS. In celebration of National Work and Family Month this October, employers will promote the various ways in which they support the work-life needs of their employee’s as they juggle their competing demands and responsibilities between their personal lives and career goals. The Family Resource Center is proud to announce this collaborative community event that will be held October 24, 2012. It is free and open to the public.
It’s getting cooler outside, but it’s still nice to get out for a walk! With sidewalks famously paved by the students themselves, MSUâs campus has numerous paths to follow for the campus community to use. Using MSU Walking Loops, or just by making your own path, you can go on a walkabout right on campus and enjoy the scenery as well! Homecoming week is here, ending with the MSU vs. Iowa game on Saturday, October 13. This yearâs theme is âSpartans Will⊠Make History,â celebrating the history of MSU and those who have contributed to its legacy. The 150th anniversary of the Morrill Act will be celebrated as well.
The newest homecoming tradition, âGlow Green,” is back this year! To celebrate the week, swap your porch light for a green bulb to celebrate Homecoming. This week weâre highlighting an Administrative Associate I/S position in Agriculture, Food & Resource Economics (Posting #6825). Some of the job duties for this position include serving as the fiscal officer for the department; planning, recommending and administering the operational budgets that consist of research, teaching, extension, agency, gifts, grants and revolving accounts; participating in the development of administrative goals and objectives; generating monthly and annual financial reports and forecasting expenditures; handling grant activities that include reconciling accounts, generating reports, monitoring deliverables, resolving problems and communicating with external agencies, Contract and Grant Administration and Office of Sponsored Research; setting up budgets; and overseeing the reconciliation of accounting ledgers for multiple accounts and subâaccounts.
