Homecoming week is here, ending with the MSU vs. Iowa game on Saturday, October 13. This year’s theme is “Spartans Will… Make History,” celebrating the history of MSU and those who have contributed to its legacy. The 150th anniversary of the Morrill Act will be celebrated as well.
The newest homecoming tradition, “Glow Green,” is back this year! To celebrate the week, swap your porch light for a green bulb to celebrate Homecoming. A photo contest will be held for the best home, apartment or resident hall room as well. Check out the information page to find out more.
The week is filled with several family-friendly events, including, but not limited to:
- Spartan Trivia Night hosted by the Union Activities Board on Tuesday, October 9
- Craft Night on Wednesday, October 10
- Sounds of Homecoming on Thursday, October 11, at the MSU Union
- Ice Cream @ the Rock on Friday, October 12 at noon
The week-day events end with the annual MSU Homecoming Parade through Downtown East Lansing and campus. The parade starts at 6 p.m. and Athletics Director Mark Hollis will serve as Homecoming Grand Marshal.
Several alumni groups and colleges are having events throughout the week and weekend. Check out when and where by viewing the Schedule of Events page. http://alumni.msu.edu/programs/homecoming/greenGlow.cfm
