Job of the Week 5/31/13

This week we are highlighting a Residential and Hospitality Services Assistant/ Lead position (Posting 7843). Some of the job duties for this position will be to utilize EBS and Ultra Time employee data and interface reports in order to process payroll and human resources hiring actions in accordance with the MSU Business Manual and contractual agreements; generate, audit and adjust automatic interfaces between SAP and Ultra-Time to correct and facilitate hiring and payment of employees; collaborate with other RHS Payroll team members and unit managers within the division to exchange pertinent information to reconcile and update employee records and reports; audit work of others to ensure accuracy; provide training to new employees and unit supervisors, as well as participate in outreach programs designed to assist RHS units; communicate as a key element of daily operations.

This week we are highlighting an Administrative Assistant II/S position with the MSU Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine (Posting 7754).  The MSU Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine are seeking applicants with proven ability to effectively manage multiple, complex tasks under strict time demands to fill the position of Medical Student Education Administrator in the Department of Psychiatry; this a demanding position requiring the management of medical student educational processes and the psychiatry clerkship records for over 500 medical students per year in the colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine; this position does involve conducting small group presentations and occasional travel; components of this position include: coordinating psychiatry clerkships in the communities of Lansing, Detroit, and Grand Rapids and developing student rotation schedules; conducting Lansing psychiatry clerkship orientation sessions for rotating medical students; coordinating elective psychiatry clerkships in the Lansing community and developing student rotation schedules; acting as the CHM department clerkship administrator for Psychiatry; providing training, current materials, and current information on policies and procedures to psychiatry clerkship coordinators in other communities; maintaining psychiatry clerkship course records on all COM and CHM medical students completing their psychiatry rotations; and other tasks.

This week we are highlighting an Office Supervisor III position with MSU Residential & Hospitality Services (Posting 7620). This position serves as Payroll office supervisor and manages the specialized area of Centralized Payroll for the Division of Residential and Housing Services within the department of Auxiliary Resources; will be responsible for the daily oversight and supervision of 11 FTEs and students to ensure the payroll and related human resource functions, duties and responsibilities meet specific deadlines in processing for 900 full time and 6000 hourly and student employees in 9 departments; will be responsible for maintaining security access to the Ultra Time System and update the account, sub-account and job codes within the system to align with SAP/Kuali for the Division; and will be required to submit, verify and monitor interface reports uploaded from the Division’s Ultra Time System and evaluate the payroll assistant’s findings on the error report prior to final submission. This office is responsible for reviewing and approving student and on-call processing through SAP, and assisting Payroll Assistants with verification of interface reports containing personnel and payroll data to ensure an accurate payroll. In addition, this position will be expected to assist in and/or perform the full range of payroll, human resources and clerical duties for the employees they supervise, if the need arises.
