This week we’re highlighting an Administrative Assistant II position for the Honors College Dean (Posting #6045).  Some of the job duties for this position include managing and assisting in planning administrative procedures; processing programmatic, research and service projects; compiling and analyzing information in order to produce and assist with Honors College reports and projects; assisting with the administrative and operational activities of the College. This position works closely with the Dean of the Honors College in support of the National/International Fellowships and Scholarships (NIFS) office, as well as a range of programmatic efforts associated with co-curricular, research and scholarship initiatives. Making the Most of Your Doctor Visits

Do you get nervous when visiting your doctor’s office? Knowing you may only have a few minutes with your doctor, you want to prepared so you get the most out of your appointment. Here are some ideas that can help, courtesy of Best Doctors:Woman in doctor's office

  • Bring a list of your questions and concerns
  • Bring a list of all of your medications (including over-the-counter and supplements) and how much you take of each one
  • Repeat what your doctor tells you in your own words to make sure you understand
  • Take notes

Job of the Week 3/30/12

This week we’re highlighting an Editor II position for MSU Press (Posting #6023). Some of the job duties for this position include executing manuscript editing and production in books division; following established workflow for 20-25 books per year; maintaining scheduled deadlines from manuscript delivery through closure, including inventorying texts and art, preparing files for print and e-book editing and production, preparing castoffs and budgets, scheduling, checking and marking changes, proofreading, editing, registering, and archiving; and coordinating and overseeing the work of freelance proofreaders, copy editors, designers and typesetters, as well as authors, series and volume editors, and students, while supporting fellow editorial and production staff.  For a complete description of this position, and to view all of our current postings, please go to www.jobs.msu.edu and select Support Staff under the Fast Jobs Search.

This week we’re highlighting a Communications Manager II/S position for the Natural Science Dean’s Office (Posting #5989). Some of the job duties for this position include developing and implementing the strategic integrated marketing and communications program for the College of Natural Science aligned with the College’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives, as well as with overarching University messaging and branding foci; articulating marketing and communications strategies and tactics in a comprehensive written communications plan that includes use of appropriate metrics to gauge performance and guide improvement interventions; planning and coordinating production of electronic and written promotional materials to communicate and advance the reputation and visibility of the College, as well as the College’s and the dean’s mission, vision and strategic initiatives.
