Summer Construction at MSU

It’s that time of year again! As the number of students and classes decreases in the summer, the amount of campus construction projects increases. To keep up with the latest in MSU construction, you need to visit construction.msu.edu! This special website was created by MSU Physical Plant, and it gives information on current and upcoming construction projects, detour maps for each month, the design and approval process, and more!

EBS Development Team is breaking new ground with SAP Forms

When EBS went live in December 2010, HR/Payroll forms used Adobe Interactive Forms technology. We quickly discovered Adobe is not the ideal solution for the complex forms required by university processes. We ran into issues with performance and usability. We needed a new solution.

An SAP system upgrade applied in August of 2011 offered new options for forms creation and processing. The new capability of Floorplan Manager (FPM), with a technology we were already using called WebDynPro, led our development team down a new path. This new path meant developing a new way of doing things, not only for our team, but also for SAP – the software company itself had never done what we were doing.Continue Reading… EBS Development Team is breaking new ground with SAP Forms

Stay Aware with MSU ALERT

We don’t always like to think about the possibility of health or safety threats on campus, but they do happen. MSU ALERT is one way that Michigan State University delivers significant emergency information to the campus community. In the event of an emergency, MSU ALERT is able to send you an email message, an SMS text message to your cell phone and call you with a recorded message using the Blackboard Connect-Ed system.MSU Alert Icon

All employees are automatically subscribed to receive emergency notifications through MSU ALERT unless they opt-out. (It is strongly recommended that no employee opt-out of MSU ALERT.) MSU ALERT uses the MSU registered email address and phone number on file for you from the MSU directory. You can add additional contact information if desired. You also can add additional phone numbers that aren’t your own, such as a spouse, friend or neighbor if you would like them to be informed of emergency situations on campus.Continue Reading… Stay Aware with MSU ALERT

We’re pleased to welcome you to SourceLive, a news blog published by MSU Human Resources.

Blogging is new to us at MSU HR, so we’re starting out with some news categories that we think make sense.  But we promise we’ll be listening to what you, our readers, have to say.  Based on your feedback and readership statistics, our categories may change over time.  We want to add things you tell us you want more of and eventually delete those article types you tell us aren’t interesting or useful.  But we had to start somewhere, so for now, our introductory categories are:Continue Reading… Welcome to SourceLive!
