Care.com continues to provide a great service for MSU!

Since 2011, MSU has been partnered with Care.com to provide in-home care services for faculty, staff, and students, and the service has proven to benefit the University over the last year.Care.com MSU logo

Care.com posts profiles of high-quality care providers anywhere in the country for its members. Services such as child care, senior/elder support, pet care  and more are all provided in the family’s home. MSU employees and students are entitled to a free membership with Care.com, in which they can search for providers or post job listings. 2012 Gliozzo Clerical-Technical Award Winner: Deb Cleland!

The annual Gliozzo Clerical-Technical (CT) Recognition Award was founded in 2001 to acknowledge outstanding clerical and technical employees at MSU. The 2012 recipient of the CT Recognition Award is Deb Cleland.

For the past three years Deb has been a dedicated University employee, working within the College of Human Medicine West at the Secchia Center. Deb serves as the Family Medicine Clerkship Coordinator for all 3rd year students in the Grand Rapids community, and as a Credentials Coordinator for 4th year students who are applying to residency programs. Some of Deb’s job responsibilities include coordinating clinical experiences for her Family Medicine students, placing them in offices and hospital settings, and assisting 4th year students as they go through the process of applying to residency programs. Come one, come all to the MSU Broad Art Museum!

This weekend marks the grand opening of Michigan State University’s Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum.

The museum will be dedicated on Saturday, November 10, and registered guests can attend the dedication ceremony and enjoy previews of the museum’s art galleries.

On Sunday, November 11, the museum will be open to the public and will host an all-day open house with free events. The festivities start at 10 a.m. with a showing on the museums process from conception to completion. Attendees also can enjoy an architectural tour discussing the building concepts and features of the museum, and meet with Broad staff and others to discuss the formation and future of the museum.Continue Reading… Come one, come all to the MSU Broad Art Museum!

Your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Open Enrollment Guide is now available for viewing. FSA Open Enrollment for the 2013 plan year will be held Monday, October 29 through Monday, November 12, 2012.

Don’t forget – tomorrow is the last day to enroll in voluntary vision insurance and group legal services! Open enrollment for these two employee-paid benefits ends on Friday, October 19. To enroll, visit www.MSUBenefitsPlus.com. You will need to create an account with the MSU Benefits Plus site to enroll in any of the new programs.

And then, on Monday, October 29, 2012, an open enrollment period for Critical Illness Insurance begins. Critical Illness open enrollment runs during the same time period as FSA Open Enrollment, October 29 through November 12, 2012. To enroll in Critical Illness Insurance, you will need to visit the MetLife website at www.mybenefits.metlife.com.
