This year, Spartans from near and far are being asked to “glow” green for Homecoming week! MSU’s Homecoming will take place October 17-22. This year’s theme is “Glow Green, Go White”and the university is hoping to start a new tradition, which calls for Spartans to switch out their porch or house lights to green ones during homecoming week.

While supplies last, the MSU Alumni Association is giving out free green light bulbs. The bulbs will be available for faculty, staff, alumni and fans during normal business hours (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) at the MSU Alumni Association, located in the stadium tower. After the football game against Michigan on October 15, free bulbs will be available to alumni and fans at the MSU Alumni Association tent, north of the stadium. When it’s time for new technology equipment or software, look no further than the MSU Computer Store! The MSU Computer Store offers a variety of computers and accessories to MSU faculty, staff and students at great prices. The educational discounts offered can be over 50 percent for software and about five percent for hardware! These discounts apply for personal and departmental use.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. in 110 Computer Center. You’ll find software, computers, iPods, laptop cases, headphones and other accessories all in one place on campus. If you’re looking for a great read for this weekend, it’s not too late to check out this year’s One Book, One Community selection, “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” by Jonathan Safran Foer.

The annual One Book, One Community program, co-sponsored by the City of East Lansing and Michigan State University, encourages residents of East Lansing and the MSU community to read the same book and then discuss it in a variety of settings.
