Come one, come all to the MSU Broad Art Museum!

This weekend marks the grand opening of Michigan State University’s Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum.

The museum will be dedicated on Saturday, November 10, and registered guests can attend the dedication ceremony and enjoy previews of the museum’s art galleries.

On Sunday, November 11, the museum will be open to the public and will host an all-day open house with free events. The festivities start at 10 a.m. with a showing on the museums process from conception to completion. Attendees also can enjoy an architectural tour discussing the building concepts and features of the museum, and meet with Broad staff and others to discuss the formation and future of the museum.Continue Reading… Come one, come all to the MSU Broad Art Museum!

This week we’re highlighting a Secretary II position in the Genetics Program (Posting #6966). Some of the job duties for this position include assisting with the recruiting process for the Biomolecular Science (BMS) umbrella that comprises six department/units; maintaining application files; retrieving application information from various sources, i.e., Embark, Admissions online application, Student Information System (SIS); maintaining current student records for both undergraduate and graduate students in MMG; providing support for undergraduate and graduate directors; processing graduate assistant appointments; and arranging travel reservations and completing vouchers for prospective students.

Don’t Let Change Stress You Out

Avoiding stress in times of change and transition tends to be easier said than done. Whether it be at work or at home, those changes can be difficult to cope with. Organization and Employee Development Consultant Carrie Galdes is offering a new class, “Don’t Let Change Stress You Out,” on Tuesday, November 6. Although it’s new to Human Resource Development (HRD), Galdes has been teaching classes on stress for many years. People who have taken it in the past have told her the class is like taking a break from life.

Some of the job duties for this position include managing the fiscal and administrative activities of the unit; serving as unit research administrator, overseeing grant submissions, monitoring awards/budgets and preparing financial reports; administering large, multi-investigator, million-dollar Program Project consortium grant awards, which requires managing multi-institutional subcontract awards and attending annual scientific meetings; administering unit’s general fund budget; and approving expenditures for the unit. MSU Teams with New Horizons on Microsoft Training Package

Libraries and IT Services Training has partnered with the East Lansing New Horizons training location to offer a reduced-cost Custom Microsoft Technical Club Membership for MSU staff. This membership enables participants to attend any Microsoft Technical Class listed on the East Lansing New Horizons training schedule.

The class categories include:
